A few hours away there is the mighty Mount Kilimanjaro itself, where a wide range of different landscapes allow adventurers to walk along to the African pinnacle accompanied by an array of hard-working guides. The mountain can be reached without serious climbing, but it must still be respected. Although the Kilimanjaro peak is in the clouds, those wishing to stand on the mountain don’t have to climb to the very top, as special trips are available on its slopes for short walks and picnic lunch.

The Rift Valley creates an even more rough, scenic landscape nearby, and plunges into a series of steep cliffs on the shores of tranquil Lake Manyara. Shallow, fed by the rush along the side of the high cliff, Manyara hosts a large number of rosy flamingos all year round. The greenery of the national park on its shores is renowned for its wildlife concentration, including its unusual treetop lift.

Tarangire, which is uniquely picturesque, has no lake but a large marshes that turn swathes into brilliant green. Abundance of games gathers in these roses and long grasses, which grow by the cold water, while patient lions lounge on their rivers, alerting the eyes for those who have been wounded or unconscious.

The most famous safari area in Tanzania and often connects the country’s exceptional experience is the fabled Serengeti National Park, where the annual Great Migration of more than one million wild beasts and zebras takes place in the endless plains. This fascinating show is called the greatest show on Earth, continually passing through the Serengeti, crossing borders and returning to Kenya’s Masai Mara. Its endless cycle of life and death attracts visitors and fanatics alike for the very first time.
